July 2023 Recap šŸ‘€

Here's all the exciting highlights you missed...

Time flies when youā€™re enjoying art, or whatever they say šŸ˜

July flew by in the blink of an eye, but not without giving us its fair share of headlines. Letā€™s look into some of the top stories in the world of on-chain art:

  • Christieā€™s x Gucci latest collaboration

  • POƈME SBJKT exhibition in Paris

  • How to market your art in 2023

  • Top sales of the week šŸ”„

POƈME SBJKT exhibition in Paris

Blurring the lines between literature, art, and technology, this event was brought to life by the gigabrains at theVERSEverse gallery in collaboration with Lā€™Avant Galerie Vossen in Paris.

It was an open invitation to taste poetry in a new way and experience fresh expressions of language. The exhibition explores the relationship between text and image vis-Ć -vis analog and digital media.

39 artists were featured over the span of seven weeks, displaying a wide array of curated works both on and off the blockchain. Oh, and check this out: the entire exhibition was recorded and verified on-chain via Exhibited.at

How cool is that? šŸ˜Ž

Christieā€™s x Gucci latest collaboration

Speaking of blurred lines, this exhibition saw the worlds of fashion and generative art collide. The digital auction was held for a week in NYC as part of Christieā€™s 7th annual Art + Tech summit.

This exciting collaboration between two eponymous cultural powerhouses focuses on the interplay between autonomous systems (expressed via digital and generative art) and fashion.

We love this celebration of daring statement pieces. It featured selected works from 18 talented artists, including some household names like Tyler Hobbs, Robbie Barrat, Pindar Van Arman, and Claire Silver.

How to market your art in 2023

One of the most common hurdles modern artists face is breaking through the noise of social media and the attention economy to find and connect with a community of collectors and fans.

So many talented creators have exited Web3 prematurely because of the challenges of marketing their art without feeling like complete ā€œsellouts.ā€ Others persevere but silently suffer from a lack of the required knowledge and skills.

Well, here comes a CryptoPunk to the rescue šŸ˜

Charlesai.eth is an accomplished generative artist whose creative journey with AI began in 2021. Since then, this artist has found success on SuperRare, Braindrops Art, and even scored a coveted feature on Cozomo Mediciā€™s Selected Works.

Last week, this super helpful handbook was published to help other artists in Web3 figure out the secrets of successful branding. Given the authorā€™s wealth of experience, you probably donā€™t want to fade this one.

Top Sales of the Week šŸ”„

This weekā€™s top sale on FND was a 3 ETH purchase of this work titled ā€œThe Infinite Voidā€ by Kei. What a visual treat!

On SuperRare, whaledshark.eth pulled in a big haul with an 88.8 ETH purchase of this piece titled ā€œLegendā€ by the legendary Murat Pak (pun intended).
