Eminent Pulse Recap

Here's everything you missed!

What’s up, folks?

Welcome to the second half of 2023. It’s been an incredible run so far. Time flies when you’re busy surviving a bear market, right? 😏

It’s the perfect time to look back on the last six months in on-chain art.

Christie’s 3.0 Auction

Back in April, we saw a fresh digital art auction by Christie’s.

Coinciding with NFT NYC, it brought a vibrant mix of artists, collectors, and enthusiasts together at the Rockefeller Center Galleries. On display were a selection of works by artists like Roope Rainisto, Terrell Dom, Joshua Davis, Des Lucrece, and Dave Krugman.

It featured a range of mediums, from post-photography, on-chain SVG, generative art, digital abstract expressionism, and more.

Buffalo AKG Museum acquires digital art

Boundaries continue to melt as digital art takes the world by storm.

We respect the phenomenal curation work done by Dr. Cathleen Chaffee & Dr. Tina Rivers Ryan who led efforts at Buffalo AKG Museum to collect digital art on the blockchain.

Among the selected works are pieces by Vera Molnár, Sarah Zucker, Casey Reas, Frieder Nake, Manfred Mohr, Anne Spalter, Charles Csuri, David Em, Hiroshi Kawano, and Kenneth Knowlton.

Fidenza #725 auctioned for $1 million+

The Contemporary Day Auction at Sotheby’s recorded some mega generative art sales.

Like this Fidenza that was collected for $1,016,000 in May.

The auction also featured works from Joan Mitchell, Andy Warhol, and many other notable artists.

ThankYouX Painting Journeys To Space

Back in May, we saw some next level performance art from ThankYouX.

In a truly stunning collaboration with Axiom Space, a four-person multinational crew conducted extensive research, investigated novel technologies, and engaged with global audiences.

You can find a commemorative open-edition NFT here.

CryptoPunks Turns 6 Years Old

Time flies when you’re spending millions on pixelated JPEGS that end up in museums.

It feels like a lifetime since the birth of PFP collections ushered a new wave of adoption for on-chain art. Since then, the blockchain has been littered with all sorts of doodles and squiggles.

Over the past half decade, only an elite group of such collections has retained intrinsic and tangible value. Miles ahead of the pack, the Punks exist in a class of their own.

For holders, it’s definitely time well spent.

In Case You Missed It…

Dave Krugman’s Birthday 🥳

What better place to celebrate with one of New York’s finest photographers than the big city?

We loved to see the turnout as friends and fans showed up to support one of the bright stars of our on-chain photography community.

It was fun to let our (and Dave’s) hair down and enjoy the birthday vibes. You already know New Yorkers throw a heck of a party. This was one for the books.

That’s all for now, folks!

Head over to our Twitter page for a quick vibe check. We’re always excited to talk about art and all things Web3. You can also pay us a visit on Foundation.
