QQL Metaverse Gallery Tour With Tyler Hobbs

Tyler Hobbs, a renowned generative art pioneer collaborated with Pace Gallery and Art on Internet (AOI) to bring us a guided tour of the QQL Metaverse Gallery. This virtual show took place on September 26th, 2023, showcasing some of the greatest QQLs ever seen, generated by the community.

Also, the Community Floor was open to the public for the first time, which means the QQL Community participated in its curation along with Tyler. It was a thrilling experience that brought the very best of the QQL Marketplace seeds into an immersive environment.

Anthony Azekwoh’s Multi-City Tour

Anthony has been on a spectacular run over the past few weeks, bringing his incredible talent to New York and then over the pond to London. This week, the rising star is taking the show back to his home country of Nigeria with his second solo exhibition, titled ‘There is a Country.’

The show runs from October 2 to November 4, with multiple dates in the capital city of Abuja and the economic capital of West Africa, Lagos. Word on the streets is that Anthony is joining forces with his recent collaborator, Yinka Bernie, to bring viewers an audio-visual experience like none other.

You might remember this tag team from their joint effort during Coinbase’s ‘Onchain Summer’ campaign (we covered it here). If that taste of their collaborative prowess was anything to go by, ‘There is a Country’ promises to be one for the books.

Grant Yun x Sotheby’s Auction

Speaking of good business, Grant Yun’s art made yet another big splash in New York City. ‘The Last Supper’ is Grant’s final 1/1 piece of the year to ship with a physical twin. The artwork depicts an idyllic scene in Grant’s signature vectorized style, featuring 13 cows grazing idly in a pen. Last week, this piece made its way to Sotheby’s Contemporary Curated live auction, where it sold for a jaw-dropping $95,250!

The winning bidder, 17MILE, won the rights to a 33.5 × 59-inch UV flat bed on canvas artwork, along with the original on-chain tokenized asset. This latest sale marks a continued run of impressive strides for the artist, whose work was sold at a Christie’s auction in May 2023 for $107,100.

Bryan Brinkman Takes NYC

More excitement is brewing in the world’s favorite city, as Bryan Brinkman is set to host a solo show on Friday, October 6, 2023. This event is organized by the folks at Blackdove and will take place at the NFT Gallery. You can look forward to over six hours of immaculate vibes and spectacular artistry.

Brinkman’s solo show is an immersive digital and live installation experience available for one night only. The award-winning artist’s animation and motion graphics are sure to captivate audiences in the same vein that has made his work a fan favorite. This experience is definitely one that you don’t want to miss if you’re in the city this weekend. Cop your tickets here.

ACK x Christie’s Auction

Fresh on the heels of the much-discussed Sotheby’s auction that we highlighted above, Alpha Centauri Kid made headlines in the crypto art space with a Christie’s auction. The center of attention this time was an incredible piece titled ‘The Muse - Sage Green.’

Representing the culmination of a profound stroke of inspiration at a pivotal point in the artist’s life, the birth of the “Alpha Centauri Kid” is attributed to this art series. The triptych is an ode to creative risk-taking as the artist dove headfirst into creating these physical artworks in the thick of the digital art boom in 2022.

‘The Muse - Sage Green’ is the final piece of the series to hit the primary market, fetching a whopping $40,320. Christie’s auctioned it as part of their Post-War to Present Sale on September 29, 2023. We were there to catch the historic moment as the hammer came down, finalizing the sale, and boy, what a thrill that was!
