The launch week also coincides with Concours d'Elegance, one of the most prestigious car shows in the world. It’s a top-rated event that attracts the biggest art collectors, making for a rich experience.
Several artists are slated to feature in this exhibition, showcasing the finest talent in the realm of digital art at a traditionally established art hub. Charlesai.eth, DeltaSauce, Brendan Dawes, Laurence Fuller, Adam Martinakis, OsinachiArt, AA Murakami, Blakeney Sanford, and a host of other artists are expected to feature in this pop-up exhibition.
Celebrating African Heritage With The NFT Gallery
‘How High The Moon’ is an invitation to celebrate the rich heritage of Africa and its transformative impact on the art world. African tribal masks have played a significant role in the evolution of 20th-century modernism. Today, the NFT Gallery seeks to highlight the impact of technology on African artistic expression while still retaining the spiritual essence found in its ancient masks.
It’s a showcase of the works of prominent artists from Africa and the Diaspora. With NFTs, these creators have found a way to bypass conventional middlemen— traditional galleries, dealers, and the commercial marketplace — and the expectation of art that conforms to how the West wants to see Africa. Instead, they present art that now represents their values, and they attach provenance by bringing this experience onto the blockchain.
The artists included in this exhibition include Lethabo Huma, Anthony Azekwoh, Justin Dingwall, Osinachi, Delphine Diallo, Moonsundiamond, Fanuel Leul, Lana Denina, Young Kev, Vintagemozart, Adesola Yusuf, and Kelechi Nwaneri. Check out the full event details here.
Eminent Talks Art with Jenni Pasanen
We had the pleasure of a 1-on-1 conversation with the incredible Jenni Pasanen, whose work in the field of generative art is turning ripples into waves. Here’s a short excerpt from our Q&A session:
Eminent: Could you expand on how you combine digital painting with AI?
Jenni: Depending on the work, each of them starts differently. Many start with the generated abstract AI image that serves as inspiration and the basis for the work, and then others start with an idea or a sketch. With an AI-generated abstract image, I start to twist, cut, and incorporate them into other abstract shapes and digitally paint over them, repeating the process and layering each of the layers like a cake, digitally painting in between. I repeat this process until I am done and finish off with the last details of painting and color grading.
My main tools are Artbreeder, Photoshop, and Diffusion. I have had a background in digital painting for 15 years, and my process has evolved multiple times since then. Before AI, I used to make a squiggle, a messy sketch, or color blobs on paper to find an idea. Now the AI works as that abstract color field to launch inspiration. This combination creates an innovative blend of AI and part of me.
Eminent: What is it that you feel you are achieving with AI that you couldn't with traditional digital painting?
Jenni: While I value and love traditional and digital painting, its scope is often bound by our own experiences and perspectives. AI, however, offers an expansive realm of possibilities unconfined by human limitations. By utilizing AI, I can tap into this potential and generate artwork that extends beyond my individual capabilities.
