Interacting With Tjo’s and Vinnie Hager’s Art

Fans of Tjo and Vinnie Hager were in for a treat last week, getting to experience their art in new ways. Interactive touchpoints elevate aesthetic appeal to a whole new level, and this was on full display with Vinnie Hager’s latest body of work titled ‘Diary.’

Earlier this month, the generative open edition collection was made available for 24 hours only via Opensea. ‘Diary’ explored how the Baltimore-based artist’s distinctive visual language has evolved over the last decade. Its release was paired with an intimate mini-documentary by Evan McCormick and Davi Pena. But that’s not all.

Collectors of ‘Diary’ editions were invited to claim physical prints of their pieces. Powered by Creature Labs, the mesmerizing UI was a slight nod to the Polaroid printing experience, making it one of the coolest things about this drop!

Elsewhere on the blockchain, Tjo made a bold move by stepping into his own as a film maker with the release of ‘Plaques & Tangles.’ While the entire project was a year in the making, the filming took place over the span of three short days, with Tjo and a robust team doing lots of heavy lifting in the pre- and post-production phases.

The film explores the deterioration of the mental state brought on by Alzheimer’s disease. Tjo shared the interactive versions of this work in three separate experiences, symbolizing each stage of the ailment. We’re excited to know that the full-length video version will be going on a festival run! You can catch the interactive viewing experience here (hover your cursor over the piece to trigger it).

Art Blocks Presents Marfa Weekend

The who’s who of on-chain art will be descending on Marfa, Texas, for four days only, to celebrate the ever-blossoming community. From September 21-24, Art Blocks is hosting a free-for-all meetup in the Lone Star State with an exciting lineup of events.

Efdot’s ‘Street View’ Makes Waves

It was quite the wild ride for Efdot’s abstract piece as it made its way from the artist’s canvas to the home page of Foundation and then on to the vault of its collector. This piece, titled ‘Street View’ (or ‘The Blueprint City’ depending on who you ask), is a masterful showcase of the artist’s skill.

This work of art features lovely aerial angles, with lines and patterns richly layered across a vibrant color spectrum. Described by some as “an instant classic,” the clean visuals instantly arrest your attention. No wonder Foundation pulled the trigger and posted the work on their Twitter page as well! And how about the wild bidding war that ensued once the reserve price was met?

The auction was won by 0xBuzzy, who bid several times over a 24-hour period to ensure that ‘Street View’ wouldn’t end up with another collector. The winning bid was for 1.84 ETH—a steal, considering the circumstances.

AOTM Curates a Fresh Auction

Art Of This Millennium Gallery has announced a new curation titled ‘Ephemeral Visions: Exploring Transience through Art.’ Slated to take place on October 3, 2023, the online auction is an exploration of themes surrounding the concept of impermanence through contemporary digital art.

AOTM Gallery has carved a spot for itself in the contemporary digital art scene by showcasing artists on a global stage. This latest initiative is no different, with 18 artists from across the world featured in the brilliantly curated lineup.

We’re excited to see what the artists have in store, with a couple of familiar names on the roster, including P1A, Molly McCutcheon, and Laura El. But even more intriguing is the prospect of being introduced to the works of the other talented artists. This will definitely be one for the books!

Top Sales of the Week 🔥

The highest grossing sale on Foundation in the past week was for this captivating work of art by WLOP. ‘Golden1’ was snagged for 5 ETH by an anonymous collector with unquestionably impeccable taste.

On SuperRare, the top sale of this week was a whopping 30.6969 ETH for this brilliant work titled ‘Lost In The Supermarket.’ The piece was created by Defaced and collected by sklwhispr.
